US SHIPPING UPDATE
US Shipping Update
U.S. shipping has resumed on select products August 28, 2026
Following recent changes to U.S. import tariffs, some Canadian-made products are now subject to significant additional duties while others remain unaffected.
We have resumed shipping eligible products to the United States. When shopping from the U.S., only products currently available for U.S. shipping will be displayed in our catalogue, so there's no need to determine which products are affected.
Please note that some familiar favourites may be temporarily unavailable. In particular, our conditioner bars are currently subject to the new tariffs and cannot be shipped to the U.S. at this time. Shampoo bars fall into a different tariff category and remain available.
All U.S. orders continue to ship Delivered Duty Paid (DDP). This means applicable duties and import fees are paid by us so you won't receive an unexpected customs bill upon delivery.
As U.S. import requirements continue to evolve, product availability may change. We'll continue to monitor the situation closely and update our shipping options as needed.
Thank you for your patience and continued support of our small Canadian business. 💗
Temporary U.S. Shipping Pause - August 10 - 28, 2026
U.S. shipping is temporarily paused beginning August 10, 2026 while we review upcoming changes to U.S. import requirements and make sure we can continue shipping in a way that protects our customers from unexpected charges.
Orders placed through August 9, 2026 will be shipped as quickly as possible.
We know how frustrating unexpected customs and tariff charges can be, and after the issues experienced during the 2025 U.S. tariff transition, we do not want to risk passing unexpected costs along to our customers. We will resume U.S. shipping once we are confident we have a reliable path forward.
We’ll keep this page updated as things progress.
Our Current U.S. Shipping Model
When U.S. shipping is available, we use a cross-border shipping system where duties, taxes and applicable import fees are prepaid to help eliminate surprise charges after delivery.
Our regular U.S. shipping rates are:
- Free shipping on orders over $99 USD, calculated after discounts
- $12.99 USD flat-rate shipping on orders under $99 USD
Delivery times may be longer than standard courier timelines, as parcels are transported to a central U.S. processing location before being handed off to a U.S. carrier or USPS for final delivery.
Due to customs requirements, we are unable to ship our products package-free to the U.S. All solid products will arrive with outer packaging so the country of origin can be declared on each item crossing the border.
Our U.S. catalogue may also be limited to products we manufacture in-house or products that can be imported without additional tariff complications.
U.S. Tariff & Shipping History
On August 29, 2025, the U.S. ended the $800 de minimis exemption that had previously allowed many low-value shipments from Canada to enter without formal customs processing.
During the transition that followed, some customers received unexpectedly high customs, tariff and carrier brokerage charges, including on products manufactured in Canada that qualified for preferential treatment under CUSMA.
At that time, our U.S. shipping policy stated that duties, tariffs, taxes and brokerage fees assessed by customs or the carrier were the responsibility of the customer.
After becoming aware of the unusually high charges being assessed, we temporarily suspended U.S. shipping and reworked our cross-border process.
In October 2025, we resumed U.S. shipping using a prepaid-duty model, allowing us to cover duties and taxes before shipment and greatly reduce the possibility of unexpected charges being billed directly to our customers.
Our temporary August 2026 shipping pause reflects that same approach: when cross-border rules change, we would rather pause briefly and understand the impact than risk our customers receiving unexpected fees.
If you have any questions about a past U.S. shipment or need documentation for a customs review, please contact us. Where applicable, we may be able to provide supporting documents such as a Commercial Invoice or CUSMA Certificate of Origin.
