Cetearyl Alcohol

Cetearyl alcohol is a plant derived solid fatty alcohol which has hydrating, softening and protective qualities unlike drying alcohols such as ethanol or isopropyl.  

We use an RSPO certified version in our hair care products.  We have selected it as an alternative to brassica alcohol, which has been palm derived since 2021, yet the manufacturer still declares it palm free.  As transparency is of utmost importance, we have chosen to phase out our use of Brassica Alcohol once our supply of the palm free version runs out.
